PSBA Leadership Changes

All things change…and so it goes for PSBA’s leadership: Kim Thomas has resigned from VP position and the board of PSBA.  In her words:

“It’s been an honor to serve as PSBA’s vice president for the last year and I’ve enjoyed giving back to the community in this capacity. At this time however, professional and personal commitments are preventing me from giving the proper time that is needed to be a good vice president. I therefore resign from this position but look forward to participating as a member from here on out.”

Many Thanks to Kim for her hard work throughout 2013 as VP – she single-handedly revamped our website and launched our online payment/registration tools – both of which  increased PSBA’s outreach and member registrations.  Her work on arranging all our meeting and event speakers was phenomenal and appreciated by all who attended. She also sought out new ways for PSBA to be involved in the community – and was able to secure a $1500 grant from Aveda which will help us further our mission.   Kim’s can-do attitude will be missed on the board – but she will continue to be an active volunteer for PSBA as website manager and Maple Leaf Neighborhood Captain. We wish Kim the best and are grateful for her volunteer efforts with PSBA.

I’m now happy the following leaders have stepped up to backfill vacancies created by this change:

  • Vice President: Trustee Mark Hohn was voted into the Vice President role today by the board
  • Member Elaina Jorgensen (who ran for the board in November) has been appointed to fill the Trustee vacancy created by Mark’s transition to VP.  Elaina’s appointment will be voted on (per our bylaws)  at the next meeting of the board
  • Meeting and Events Committee (Speaker Coordinator)  – will be managed by Trustees Amy Lassen and Mel Bird
  • Trustee, Gerardo Dilillo, has agreed to fulfill the PR/Editor role which Kim managed for a brief time

Please give a big thanks to all these leaders for their time, willingness and expertise in serving PSBA.   You can review a complete list of PSBA leaders and committees here.
