Are you curious about the kinds of pollen that our bees are collecting? There is a study underway to determine the effect of native and non-native plant pollen sources on bee foraging behavior in the Puget Sound area, through the use of protein and DNA analysis.
- Request for beekeepers to collect 80-100mg of pollen.
- Samples will be collected in June or July.
- They have pollen traps they can rotate around to participants if they don’t have one already.
- They can provide overnight shipping for fresh pollen samples.
