Honeybees are crucial to agriculture. Many factors have been blamed for colony collapse, including mites, pesticides, and starvation due to disappearance of natural nectar and pollen sources. But what’s the very latest? We’ll hear from Timothy Lawrence, county director of Island County Cooperative Extension. He is an ecologist, entomologist, and has 25 years of experience as a professional beekeeper. He is currently doing intensive research on Colony Collapse Disorder and has traveled widely lecturing on the subject.
