PSBA is thrilled to have Thom Lee back to speak to us about pollinator plants through the year.
Ever wondered what to plant so the bees have pollen forage on those rare warm flying days in January? Thom’s talks are always enjoyable and informative, and will give us all some great ideas for ways to support our honey bees’ (and wild native bees’) forage throughout the year.
Bio:
Thom has been fascinated by plants since he was a young child helping his mother in the vegetable garden. This interest has followed him throughout his life and he has worked at his university’s research greenhouse and several nurseries including City People’s Garden Store in Seattle. For the last 26 years, Thom has been a ceramics and design professor at Everett Community College where he also assists in teaching Global Ethnobotany and Sustainable Food Systems. He has been gardening and keeping bees at his home in Shoreline for as long, and is particularly interested in the relationship between bees and plants.
